Pallet Stackers

Pallet Stackers

A pallet stacker is a variety of pallet jack that is used to move, stack and lift palletized cargo that are overly heavy for manual lifting. Its key purpose is to load and unload pallets on trucks, and also transferring pallets to and from a variety of places within a storeroom space or stockroom. Most pallet stackers are built of heavy duty materials to endure extreme weights. Pallet stackers are often identified as pallet jacks. They may be operated from a seated, upright or walk-behind position. Pallet jacks are divided into manual and powered varieties.

Some basic items comprise the pallet jack. There are forks that slide under a pallet, capable of moving and raising it to a desired height. The engine section or casing houses the gas-run, electronic or hydraulic gear that powers the instrument.

Commonly, pallet stackers come in walk-behind models that are hand-powered. This means that they are moved by pushing and pulling the stacker into its preferred location, while raising the heavy pallets can be operated hydraulically making this chore a lot easier. Using a foot pedal or lever raises the stacker’s forks. Squeezing a handle or trigger returns the forks to the floor. These designs of pallet jacks are perfect for lighter loads of up to approximately 1 ton or 907.18 kg.

Most jacks may accommodate the raising of extreme weights to around 5 tons with either the gas or electric machines. They are physically less demanding to maneuver than the labor-intensive versions thanks to the hydraulic power that raises and lowers the forks. These models are steered by rotating the handle in a particular direction. There is a button on the handle that operates to hoist and lower the forks. A throttle found on the stacker’s handle moves the device forward and in reverse. This variety of equipment is commonly known as a lift truck and is operated from a sit-down position.

Picking the right model of pallet stacker may be quite important as versions will have varying lift features, along with varying fork widths. Some designs of stackers might only allow two pallets to be loaded at one time, while other versions might be proficient to stack multiple pallets. Some versions of these hoists feature an adaptable fork so as to permit the stacker to slide under pallets of different sizes and shapes. Several fork models can be fairly successful when different types of pallets are being utilized in the same warehouse.
