Pneumatic Forklifts

Widely utilized in shipping plants, the pneumatic lift truck or pallet vehicle, may be used to transport materials that are placed onto pallets. A pneumatic lift truck usually has a pair of metallic forks mounted on a wheeled counterweight that also has a pump. The pump is used to elevate and lower the blades.

Visually inspect the pallet truck before loading. Make sure the wheels are clear of any potential obstructions. Also, make sure the handle moves easily and turns appropriately. Inspect the pallet prior to moving it to assess if it is stacked in a manner that minimizes the possibility of anything falling off during lifting. Release any air in the pump and drop the forks to the ground by squeezing the lever installed on the inside of the steel loop on the end of the handle. Run the blades into the slots in the pallet and make sure the forks are centered so that the pallets’ weight is evenly dispersed.

Pump the pneumatic lift lever up and down to elevate the forks from the ground. Discontinue pumping as soon as the pallet is entirely off the ground as there is no need to raise it any higher or risk losing balance while turning. In order to transport the pallet, haul the handle behind you; do not push it. There will be a huge amount of momentum existing. Avoid quick or sharp turns and don't stop too swiftly. Gently bring the pallet to a stop wherever you would like to park it. Squeeze the handle within the grip end to restore the blades to the ground. Withdraw the forks and return the pallet lift to a proper parking area or continue onto the next task.
